Sandblasting is a surface-treatment process in which a blasting medium – for example sand, glass beads or metal particles – is propelled at high speed against a surface in order to clean it, remove rust or roughen it.

The blasting medium is accelerated using compressed air and directed precisely onto the surface. Depending on the pressure, blasting medium and material, the effect ranges from gentle cleaning to the heavy removal of old layers.

Yes. Sandblitz works mobile and brings the complete equipment with it. We treat your objects directly at your location – at a private home, on a construction site or at your business.

Among others, metal, steel, stone, concrete, render, wood, facades and timber framing. For every material we select the blasting medium, pressure and process individually. When in doubt, we assess your object free of charge.

We work throughout the DACH region – Germany, Austria and Switzerland. From Altusried in the Allgäu we reach southern Germany especially quickly, but for larger projects we just as readily travel north, to Austria or to Switzerland. Travel is clarified transparently in the quote.

As a rule, no. We discuss the procedure with you in advance, set up the work area professionally and protect the surroundings. After completion, we clean the area.

As a rule we work with blast furnace slag or garnet sand – both are versatile, economical and deliver very good results on steel, stone and robust surfaces. On request we also use other blast media, for example fine corundum or walnut shell granulate for particularly gentle work. We always choose the blast media to match material and goal.

It depends on the task. Sandblasting is abrasive: the blast media powerfully removes rust, scale, old coatings and weathering – ideal when real substance has to come off, for example on steel, facades or weathered wood. Dry ice blasting, by contrast, works almost without abrasion: the pellets sublimate on impact and mainly dissolve greases, oils and loose layers – suitable for fine, delicate work where the surface must remain untouched. For thorough removal, sandblasting is the more effective and economical choice; for sensitive cleaning without changing the surface, dry ice can be the better complement.
